• Scrutiny:
  • Braun, 2019, The name Bryodema, derived from Greek "bryo" (abound with, swell) and "demas" (body), seems to be grammatically neuter, despite the original combination of the type species as B. baicalensis (instead of appropriately B. baicalense). Some species names possibly should be emended accordingly.
• Type species:  Thrinchus baicalensis Fischer von Waldheim (= Bryodema gebleri), by original monotypy
• The first family-group name based on this genus is Bryodemae Bey-Bienko, 1930.
