Polyglochin, genus diagnosis (translated from Beier 1960)
Fairly small, dark brown with greenish-yellow spots. Frons transverse. Fastigium verticis pointed, dorsally sulcate, not projecting beyond margins of antennal sockets. Scapus of antennae with terminal spine. Pronotum slightly saddle-shaped, anterior margin expanded, rounded, in middle angular and with tubercle, metazona on both sides with only one tubercle, transverse furrows deep, the posterior one far behind middle; side lobes much longer than high, their ventral margin straight. Tegmina distally narrowed, barely projecting beyond hind knees, rugose. Hind wings with smoky tinge. Prosternum with 2 spines. Anterior margin of mesosternum convex, the lateral margins not callose. Metasternum transverse, rear portion only slightly narrower than anterior portion, the pits connected by a long transverse furrow. Legs fairly delicate. Femora ventrally with only one row of spinules. Genicular lobes long, pointed, with terminal spine, only the outer lobes of mid femora obtuse. Fore femora only 1.5 times as long as pronotum, dorsally rounded. Fore tibiae dorsally behind ear region on both sides with a lobiform spine. Mid tibiae dorsally on both edges with 2 spines. Spines on both dorsal edges of hind tibiae of approximately same length. Female subgenital plate with terminal incision. Ovipositor slightly upcurved, pointed, without lateral tranverse folds.
