Scrutiny:
Heads, 2010, Vickery (1976, p. 13) is often erroneously cited as the author of Phylloscyrtini (though at the rank of subfamily and misspelled 'Phylloscirtinae'). Authority for family-group names based on Phylloscyrtus actually dates from Chopard (1968, p. 343) which satisfies Article 11.7 of the Code regarding availability of family-group names.
Type genus:
Phylloscyrtus
Guérin-Méneville, 1844; priority for family-group names based on
Phylloscyrtus
dates from Phylloscyrtini Chopard, 1968. First use as Phylloscyrtini by Chopard, 1968.
