  • Braun, 2011, According to the description ("size very large", "pronotum ... metazone is seen to be somewhat inflated laterad") the spelling "buliatum" (inflated) that comes with the actual species description (p. 50) seems to be equally possible as "bullatum" (inflated), appearing on other pages (introduction, key, and figure explanations) of Hebard's Orchelimum revision (1915). The author himself uses the latter spelling "bullatum" also in his work on Illinois orthopterans (1934). There is also the pygmy grasshopper Misythus bullatus Hebard, 1923. So "buliatum" is probably an erroneous spelling.
